Chad Lowe a.k.a Charles Davis Lowe II (born on January 15th, 1968) is an American actor and director. Despite being the younger brother of the famous actor, Rob Lowe, his talents were not overshadowed. He has had recurring roles in shows like ER, Now and Again and Melrose Place. He has also played Byron Montgomery on Pretty Little Liars and Deputy White House Chief of Staff Reed Pollock on the sixth season of 24. Lowe also won an Emmy Award for his supporting role as a young man living with HIV in Life Goes On.

Early Life and Background

Chad Lowe was born in Dayton, Ohio to Barbara Lynn and Charles Davis Lowe. His mother was a school teacher while his father was a trial lawyer. He went to Oakwood Junior Secondary school from where he pursued his initial education. The early part of his childhood was spent in Dayton, Ohio but later, he relocated to Malibu, California along with his brother, Rob Lowe after his parent’s separation. After moving, he joined Santa Monica Secondary School along with some of the well-known actors like Charlie Sheen, Chris Penn, Robert Downey Jr, Sean Penn and Emilio Estevez.

Personal life

After meeting Hilary Swank while filming for Quiet Days in Hollywood, Chad got married on September 28, 1997. They both announced their separation on January 9 2006, and their divorce was finalized on November 1, 2007. Lowe started dating producer Kim Painter whom he married on May 16 2009, in a small ceremony in Los Angeles. The couple have three daughters namely, Mabel Painter Lowe, Fiona Hepler Lowe and Nixie Barbara Lowe.

Career

Chad Lowe started his professional acting career during the 1980s where he appeared in a number of television series and movies. He appeared in the television series, Silence of the Heart. In 1988, Chad featured in the television movie April Morning alongside Robert Urich and Tommy Lee Jones. He earned an Emmy Award for his outstanding performance in the American drama series Life Goes On as a young HIV patient. This series aired on ABC TV from 1991 to 1993.

He also starred in various drama series such as Popular, Now and Again, Melrose Place, ER and had a guest appearance on shows like CSI: Miami, Medium,  and Touched by an Angel. His talents were not only limited to television series though as he portrayed many significant roles in various feature films including Quiet Days in Hollywood, True Blood, Floating, Unfaithful, Nobody’s perfect and Take me Home. He also additionally composed and coordinated a short movie called The Audition.
