Cassidy Freeman was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Her parents are both prominent attorneys in the Chicago area. Her mother is Glynna Freeman and her father is Lee Freeman. She has three elder brothers – Crispin Freeman who is a voice actor, Clark Freeman who is a musician, and Ryan Freeman who is adopted. Her parents also own a cattle ranch in Montana. Her father is Jewish while her mother has German, English, Scottish, and Irish ancestry. She did her schooling at The Latin School of Chicago and then magna cum laude from Middlebury College in 2005 with degrees in theatre and Spanish.

Freeman made her television debut in 2007 with An Accidental Christmas and her film debut in 2006 with Razor Sharp. She has made appearances in several shorts, feature films, and television series. She has done movies including YellowBrickRoad, Fender Bender, and Forever Purge. Cassidy has appeared in several movies such as Smallville, CSI, The Vampire Diaries, NCIS, etc.
She has formed a band with her brother, Clark Freeman and Andy Milton called The Real D’Coy, where Freeman sings and plays the piano.
