His mother Melinda Gates is a philanthropist. He wrote the poem titled Physics of Light and released it in April 2010 in his father’s website.

He has an elder sister named Jennifer Katharine Gates and a young sister named Phoebe Adele Gates. He is of American nationality and is of mixed descent.
